We represent over 7,000 Mail Handlers working within the New York City metropolitan area. Our jurisdiction includes the five boroughs of New York City, all of Long Island, north New Jersey, Southwestern Connecticut, and southern New York.

Since 1972, this local union actively and progressively represent Mail Handlers working at all Postal installations and stations, within the following Zip Codes: 068-069, 070-079, 088-089, 100-119, 124-127.

Local 300 is governed by the Uniform Local Union Constitution of the National Postal Mail Handlers Union and the National Union Constitution.

This Local provides the best representation to it's members in enforcing the National Agreement. We have many qualified and successful arbitration advocates and representatives.

Local 300 is also extremely active politically. We remain active with our political leaders to ensure that Mail Handler issues are presented favorably on Capitol Hill.

We also have had many successful social member social activities and events over the years. Such events have included: demonstrations, parades, picnics, baseball games, etc...

Local 300 has it's own Women's Caucus. The caucus has been a proven success in addressing Women's  & Men's issues both on and off the workroom floor.

We have 20 large branches within the NY Metro area. Local 300's jurisdiction covers: as north as Newburgh, NY (Mid-Hudson Branch), to the south - Eatontown, NJ (Monmouth Branch), our jurisdiction covers most of north New Jersey, the southwestern Connecticut (Stamford Branch), the five boroughs of New York City, its suburbs including Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island.

Within our jurisdiction, there are several small branches with less than 50 members (Staten Island, Elizabeth, Hackensack, Long Island City, and Monsey).

There are hundreds of members in many other various stations spread across the tri-state area. These members make up a large part of the backbone of Local 300. Members in the smaller stations are an integral part of the labor organization.
